Synoptic Chart
A trough over Vanuatu group with associated low pressure over the Tasman Sea while a high pressure about south Australia extend a ridge till New Caledonia. All systems slow moving.

 

Satellite Images
Based on the latest (IR) satellite imagery, which includes a six-hour loop indicates scattered to broken of low to high level clouds over the southern Islands, elsewhere, Broken to Overcast low to mid level clouds. Latest METAR and Synoptic observations correlate with the current satellite imagery.

 

Models
The trough mentioned above is slowly shift towards Fiji. A ridge will reach Vanuatu Tomorrow as the high pressure system pushes more easterly from South Australia by Tuesday. The weak low pressure mentioned above will slightly move or pushes towards New Zealand by Tuesday extending its trough along east of Vanuatu tomorrow and may remain until Thursday or Friday. The high-pressure will reach the Tasman Sea early next week.

 

Outlook for the next 7 days
Cloudy with showers and light rain over most of the group. Clearings will be also expected later today over southern and parts of central islands.Similar weather expected tomorrow. Rain & showers spreading over the group on Wednesday and it may last till Friday. Showers may retrieve towards Northern islands Saturday and Sunday next week.Light to moderate NE/NW to variable winds over the Northern islands while light to moderate S/SE expected elsewhere.Maximum temperatures for today range from 28°C down south to 32°C up north.
Minimum temperatures for tonight range from 20°C down south to 25°C up north.
